Furia Esmeraldera subcampeones de las V Olimpiadas de Salvamento Minero

Furia Esmeraldera, el grupo de socorredores mineros de Esmeraldas Mining Services, EMS, y Las Compañías Muzo Colombia, volvieron a rugir en las V Olimpiadas Nacionales de Salvamento Minero. Este año, la competencia se ofició en la ciudad de Zipaquirá donde se reunieron 15 cuadrillas de todo el país representando diferentes empresas del sector como extracciones de oro, cobre, carbón y esmeraldas. Furia Esmeraldera, quienes en el 2018 representaron al grupo Muzo y a Colombia en las olimpiadas internacionales en Rusia, tuvo una destacada participación en las pruebas organizadas por la Agencia Nacional de Minería.

El grupo está conformado por 8 trabajadores de varios departamentos de la compañía tales como operación mina, mantenimiento, HSE, entre otros, y este año, completan su cuarta participación en las convocatorias nacionales, además de ser la única cuadrilla en Colombia en contar con un mecánico de equipos y líder de operaciones propio, roles asumidos generalmente por profesionales de la Agencia Nacional de Minería, sin mencionar que para el último mundial fue galardonado como el segundo mejor mecánico de equipos del mundo.

En esta ocasión, además de resaltar la destreza en las acciones de rescate minero se hizo énfasis en la importancia de la prevención como pilar fundamental de la seguridad en las labores subterráneas. Nuestra cuadrilla obtuvo el segundo lugar, tanto en la prueba de atención pre-hospitalaria como en la simulación de una acción de rescate minero, convirtiéndose en subcampeones nacionales por segunda vez. Este logro abre una posibilidad de representar nuevamente a Colombia en las Olimpiadas Internacionales de Salvamento Minero que se llevarán a cabo el próximo año en Estados Unidos.
